FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Columbus, GA — The Columbus Lions are proud to announce a new community partnership with The Salvation Army that will make a direct impact in the local community throughout the 2026 season.
As part of this initiative, the Columbus Lions will donate proceeds from the in-game 50/50 raffle to a designated local charity at each home game. For the upcoming home game, The Salvation Army has been selected as the official beneficiary.
Traditionally, the 50/50 raffle provides an opportunity for fans to win cash prizes while supporting the team. Through this new program, the Lions are shifting the focus to community impact—ensuring that funds raised during games go directly back into organizations making a difference in Columbus.
“This is about being bigger than football,” said Corry Black, General Manager of the Columbus Lions. “Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience on the field while also making a real difference off the field. Partnering with The Salvation Army allows us to support families and individuals in need right here in our community.”
Fans attending the game will be able to participate in the 50/50 raffle as usual, with the added purpose of contributing to a meaningful cause. Half of the total proceeds will go to the raffle winner, while the remaining portion will directly benefit The Salvation Army’s local programs and services.
“This partnership is a powerful example of what can happen when organizations come together for good,” said a representative from The Salvation Army. “We are grateful to the Columbus Lions and their fans for helping us continue our mission of serving those in need.”
The Columbus Lions encourage all fans to participate in the 50/50 raffle, not only for a chance to win, but to be part of something bigger.
