FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The American Arena League (AAL) has officially announced the selection order for the 2026 AAL Draft, setting the stage for an exciting and historic first draft for the league’s new era.
The draft order for the 2026 season was selected at random, according to AAL Commissioner Kevin O’Hanlon. Beginning in future seasons, draft positioning will be determined by each team’s win-loss record.
2026 American Arena League Draft Order:
Columbus Lions
Mississippi Wolfpack
Wheeling Miners
Jersey Bearcats
With the top selection, the Columbus Lions are officially on the clock, holding a prime opportunity to shape their roster heading into the upcoming season.
The 2026 draft will follow a “snake-style” format, meaning the order will reverse each round. The team that selects last in the first round will pick first in the second round, continuing this pattern throughout the draft.
Draft Countdown & Event Details
There are just 25 days remaining until the 2026 AAL Draft, which will be hosted by the Columbus Lions in partnership with The Beck Center in Columbus, Georgia. The event is expected to bring together players, coaches, and fans for a premier league showcase.
Fans can also tune in tonight for a special LIVE episode of the AAL Fifth Quarter at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, featuring representatives from all four AAL teams.
Player Registration Still Open
The AAL is continuing to accept registrations for the 2026 Draft Class. Eligible players — current or former AAL2 athletes — still have time to declare.
As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on Columbus as the Lions prepare to make the first selection in the 2026 AAL Draft.
The clock is ticking.
